Examples of Private Cooking Classes

Our professional cooking classes are custom-designed based on your group size, time frame, and objectives.

Cooking Competition

A high-energy, chef-led team challenge where guests work in small groups to prepare a meal. Guided by an experienced chef, teams receive mystery baskets filled with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and unexpected curveballs designed to spark innovation. With the clock ticking, participants must strategize, delegate, and adapt to create a standout dish. Chef tips and technique demos keep the experience approachable and fun for all skill levels. The experience carries the same collaborative spirit as our cooking classes for groups, closing with a lively tasting and judging moment, featuring bold flavors, big laughs, and well-earned bragging rights for the winning team. This format encourages collaboration, problem-solving, and friendly competition.

Build an Edible Nest

A playful, design-forward activity where guests create an edible “nest” using curated ingredients. This experience highlights presentation, storytelling, and hands-on creativity, making it perfect for teams looking for something unexpected and fun.

Guests learn how to build visually stunning, well-balanced charcuterie boards while exploring textures, flavors, and presentation techniques. A relaxed, social format that encourages conversation and creativity.

An elevated experience focused on technique and pairing. Guests prepare blinis, work with ricotta, and learn how to serve and enjoy caviar. These private cooking classes are ideal for client entertainment or executive-level groups.

Participants mix, knead, and shape their own pasta, focusing on orecchiette, a classic shape designed to hold sauce. While the dough rests, the group prepares a savory tomato and garlic sauce to finish the dish together.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Most groups gather with 8–30 guests for our cooking classes in San Francisco, which gives everyone room to cook, talk, and settle in. If your group is larger, we can walk through the flow together and find a setup that still feels comfortable.

  • We host groups in our West Oakland tasting room—a space built for cooking side by side and sharing a meal at the end. When it makes sense for the format, we also bring our team and tools to offices and event venues throughout the Bay Area.

  • No cooking experience is needed. We walk the group through the process in a way that feels easy to follow, whether you cook often or hardly at all.

  • Of course. With a bit of advance notice, we plan ingredients and dishes so everyone at the table feels included and cared for.

  • Each gathering begins with a small bite and something to sip, followed by hands-on cooking, chef guidance, and a shared dinner. We bring the ingredients, the tools, and the team; you simply bring your group. Guests can also take the recipes with them so they can make the dishes again at home.

  • Yes. Many teams join us when they want a change of pace and a chance to connect over something simple and shared—cooking together.

  • Most sessions run between two and four hours. That gives the group time to cook, enjoy each other’s company, and sit down to the meal without feeling rushed.

  • Sure. We ask for at least seven days’ notice so we can adjust staffing and ingredients with care.
